Charles J. Wolter has over 17 years of commercial real estate experience, the majority of which was spent working for Wachovia Securities and its predecessors, which had one of the largest real estate investment banking platforms in the United States at the time. Prior to co-founding Tannery Brook Partners, LLC, Mr. Wolter served as Managing Director and Business Unit Leader of the Structured Finance Group for Wachovia Securities’ Real Estate Capital Markets platform from 2005 to 2009 where he was responsible for principal investments in highly structured debt and equity investments. In this role, Mr. Wolter was responsible for building and overseeing an approximately $5 Billion debt and equity portfolio in committed exposure, of which, roughly $4.5 Billion consisted of various senior and subordinate debt positions and $500 Million was invested in preferred and joint venture equity assets. Prior to working in the Structured Finance Group, from 1995 through early 2005, Mr. Wolter held various positions within Wachovia Securities’ Real Estate Capital Markets platform, including serving as Managing Director for the CMBS Group.
Prior to joining Wachovia Securities, Mr. Wolter was with G&S Consulting in Atlanta where he worked in the Commercial Loan Sale and RTC Due Diligence Advisory Group, as well as the CMBS Contract Underwriting Group. From 1990 to 1993, he worked for Cooper & Lybrand's Federal and State Income Tax Consulting Group.
Mr. Wolter was previously licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Georgia. Mr. Wolter received a Masters in Taxation from Georgia State University and a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Georgia.
